Hachiko was a dog that was born around the month of November 1923 in Odate, Japan. He moved to Tokyo, when his employer moved there.
Owner of the dog's name was Eisaburo Ueno. Eisaburo is an old man who lived alone in his house, his wife was dead and his children are married and not living there anymore. Eisaburo Ueno worked at a university near Tokyo as a professor.
Has been a habit for the old man to climb the electric train at Shibuya Station to work. He left about 8 o'clock, and usually he came home and arrived back at the station about 5 pm.
Hachiko, the dog, very loyal to accompany his master. Every morning he went with his master to Shibuya Station. After the 'leaving off' his master, the dog returned alone to the house. And unique just before 5 pm, the dog had come back to the station to meet his master.
This habit of doing every day for several years, and the people in the neighborhood already memorized the behavior of dogs (and owners) that. The station attendant was always smiling when she saw the dog trotted to meet his master every evening.
But alas, one afternoon, Eisaburo get a heart attack at the university where she works. He died before getting medical care from the hospital. The entire family immediately contacted by the university to pick up the bodies Eisaburo.
And what about the dog? Apparently, in the afternoon the dog was still coming to the station to meet his master, but he waited until late at night, his master was not coming. The dog was returned home.
Tomorrow afternoon, the dog came back to the station - and again - he went home 'empty handed'. This habit he does every day. The station officers and the people there are very sympathetic and sometimes fed as 'meet his master'.
Some relatives Eisaburo was actually trying to nurture and care for the dog, but still - every afternoon desperate dog running towards Shibuya station.
Do not feel 11 years have passed, and the dog still perform daily activities at the station waiting for his master every evening - until late at night, sometimes even returning the next morning after sleeping soundly at the station.
After the age of 15 years, the dog eventually died in his faithfulness, precisely at a place where he usually waited for his master.
To commend and appreciate the loyalty of the dog, the people built a statue of Hachiko at Shibuya Station. Dog statue was still standing strong today, as an inspiration of loyalty to those who pass through.
